Baseball Hall of Famer Yogi Berra once famously said, “It ain’t over ’til it’s over.”
That’s being proven true time and again during the 2018-19 NHL season.
The Los Angeles Kings were the latest team to rally from down multiple goals in a 4-3 win against the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Monday after trailing 2-0. It was the 95th such victory this season, which trails the 111 through 758 games set in 1985-86 for most in NHL history. There have been 338 total come-from-behind wins after 758 games, breaking the NHL record of 333 set in 2005-06.
Jonathan Quick made 33 saves for his 302nd NHL win to pass Mike Richter for fourth place on the all-time list among United States-born goalies
Panthers strike quickly in third to defeat Sharks
The Florida Panthers scored four third-period goals, including two in nine seconds, to defeat the San Jose Sharks 6-2 at BB&T Center for their third consecutive victory. It was the fifth time in Panthers history they’ve scored twice in nine seconds or less. Their record is seven seconds against the Montreal Canadiens on Feb. 10, 2004.

Frank Vatrano had an NHL career high four points (one goal, three assists) for the Panthers to become the third undrafted player in team history to do so, joining Steve Reinprecht (Oct. 30, 2009) and Jesse Belanger (Jan. 19, 1994). Columbus Blue Jackets forward Artemi Panarin (Oct. 11, 2018) and Calgary Flames defenseman Mark Giordano (Nov. 1, 2018) are the other undrafted players with four points in a game this season.
Aaron Ekblad scored for Florida at 10:21 of the first period to become the 13th NHL defenseman in the modern era to score at least 10 goals in the first five seasons of his NHL career.
Koivu, Laviolette reach milestones with Wild, Predators
Mikko Koivu‘s goal at 19:47 of the first period was the 200th of his NHL career and helped the Minnesota Wilddefeat the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 at T-Mobile Arena. The victory moved the Wild (25-21-3, 53 points) ahead of the idle Dallas Stars (24-21-4, 52 points) into third place in the Central Division.
Mikko and Saku Koivu (255) are the 14th set of brothers in NHL history to each score at least 200 goals.
Viktor Arvidsson scored his 19th goal and Pekka Rinne made 35 saves for the Nashville Predators in a 4-1 victory against the Colorado Avalanche at Pepsi Center to help Peter Laviolette become the 20th NHL coach and second born in the United States to win 600 games. Claude Julien of the Canadiens (610) and John Tortorella of the Blue Jackets (603) each achieved the milestone this season. Tortorella also became the first U.S.-born coach with 600 wins when the Blue Jackets defeated the Predators 4-3 in overtime Jan. 10.
