Edler taken off on stretcher in Canucks game against Flyers

PHILADELPHIA — Alexander Edler was taken off the ice on a stretcher after the Vancouver Canucks defenseman went face-first onto the ice against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center on Monday.

Edler was defending in the Canucks zone in the third period when it appeared his stick got caught in Flyers forward Jakub Voracek‘s skates, pulling Edler to the ice. He left the game with 10:22 remaining in Philadelphia’s 2-1 win.

The 32-year-old has 20 points (five goals, 15 points) in 37 games. He had four shots on goal in 19:34 against the Flyers.
