A new billboard on L.A.’s Sunset Boulevard is strikingly similar to another billboard down the street from it…and fans of A Star Is Born will likely recognize both.
The new piece of marketing spoofs a memorable display from Bradley Cooper’s blockbuster, which features Lady Gaga‘s character Ally against a neon-colored background with bold type reading simply, “ALLY.” A real-life version of that billboard previously appeared on the same street, outside the Chateau Marmont (where Cooper’s and Gaga’s characters looked out on the billboard in the film) as part of ASIB‘s Oscar campaign. And now, it’s Schumer’s face gracing the large sign — same color scheme with “AMY” printed below her face.
Netflix also tweeted a photo of the publicity stunt, which is promoting the comic’s new special, Amy Schumer Growing, which will premiere March 19 on the streaming service.
A Star Is Born is up for eight Oscars, including Best Picture. The 91st Academy Awards are Sunday.
