DALLAS — Tyler Seguin scored two goals, including the winner at 3:37 of overtime to give the Dallas Stars a 2-1 victory against the Washington Capitals at American Airlines Center on Friday.
Seguin converted a rebound at the right post off Alexander Radulov‘s initial shot. He has six points (four goals, two assists) during a four-game point streak.
Radulov had two assists and Anton Khudobin made 36 saves for Dallas (22-16-4), which extended its point streak to five games (4-0-1).
Lars Eller scored and Pheonix Copley made 27 saves for Washington (24-12-4), which has lost three straight games for the first time this season.
Seguin gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 13:20 of the first period with a power-play goal, scoring on a slap shot into an open net from the left circle off a rebound.
Eller tied it 1-1 at 10:19 of the second period, skating out from below the goal line and scoring with a backhand short side from the left circle.
Washington outshot Dallas 32-14 over the final two periods and overtime after being outshot 15-5 in the first period.
The Stars played without captain Jamie Benn after he sustained an upper-body injury in the second period of a 5-4 win against the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday. He is expected to return to the lineup Sunday against the Winnipeg Jets.
