Pacioretty out at least one week for Golden Knights

Max Pacioretty will be out at least one week for the Vegas Golden Knights with an undisclosed injury.

The forward was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. On Monday, he left the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets at 10:16 of the second period after colliding with Blue Jackets center Riley Nash.

Pacioretty attempted to play the puck along the right boards and banged skates with Nash. He did not return to the 1-0 loss.

Pacioretty has 19 points (10 goals, nine assists) in 30 games in his first season with the Golden Knights. The 30-year-old was traded to Vegas by the Montreal Canadiens on Sept. 10 for forwards Tomas Tatar and Nick Suzuki and a second-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.

Pacioretty missed four games from Oct. 28-Nov. 3 with an upper-body injury and did not play against the Washington Capitals on Dec. 4 because of an undisclosed injury.

Forward Brandon Pirri, who leads the American Hockey League with 41 points (17 goals, 24 assists), was recalled by Vegas from Chicago on Wednesday.

The Golden Knights (19-15-2) are fourth in the Pacific Division and begin a four-game homestand against the New York Islanders on Thursday (10 p.m. ET; SN360, SNE, SNO, ATTSN-RM, MSG+, NHL.TV).
