Niederreiter, Suter help Wild send Panthers to fourth straight loss

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Nino Niederreiter scored two goals and had an assist for the Minnesota Wild in a 5-1 win against the Florida Panthers at Xcel Energy Center on Thursday.

Zach Parise had a goal and an assist, Ryan Suter had three assists and Devan Dubnyk made 30 saves for the Wild (17-12-2) who have allowed two goals or fewer in four of their past five games. 

Denis Malgin scored, and James Reimer made 21 saves for the Panthers (11-13-6), who have lost four in a row (0-3-1). 

Malgin scored on a rebound at 2:20 of the first period to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. 

Niederreiter tied it 1-1 with a one-timer at 15:22, extending his goal streak to three games.

Niederreiter gave Minnesota a 2-1 lead at 11:54 of the second period. 

Eric Staal made it 3-1, scoring off a backhand pass from Mikael Granlund at 15:29. It was Granlund’s 300th NHL point. 

Parise pushed the lead to 4-1 at 1:02 of the third period, and Jonas Brodin made it 5-1 at 3:51.
