Lundqvist, Shattenkirk help Rangers defeat Blues

ST. LOUISHenrik Lundqvist made 37 saves for the New York Rangers in a 2-1 win against the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Monday.

Boo Nieves scored the tiebreaking goal in the second period, and Mats Zuccarello scored for New York (17-14-7), which has won two straight for the first time since winning three in a row Nov. 17-21.

Ryan O’Reilly scored, and Jake Allen made 20 saves for St. Louis (15-18-4), which has lost two in a row.

Nieves put the Rangers up 2-1 at 3:11 of the second period. Kevin Shattenkirk had an assist in his first game returning from a shoulder injury.

O’Reilly’s Blues-leading 15th goal at 10:08 of the first period gave St. Louis a 1-0 lead. Zuccarello tied it 1-1 at 19:40 on the power play, the seventh time in eight games the Blues have allowed a power-play goal.
