Hutton’s stick save on Bailey is plain-old highway robbery

Carter Hutton isn’t done with the year 2018 just yet. He still has highlights to make.

The Buffalo Sabres goalie absolutely robbed New York Islanders forward Josh Bailey at Key Bank Center on Monday.

Bailey took a perfectly placed pass from teammate Mathew Barzal and was staring at seemingly wide open net, but Hutton calmly slid to his right and smacked the shot out of the air with his stick. He would quickly cover the puck with his glove.

Hutton stopped what would surely have been the game’s first goal and also slipped in one last candidate for Save of the Year just in the nick of time.
